The deadline to register to vote in Georgia is fast-approaching, as October 5 is the last day to register to vote in the 2026 election.
Per the Georgia.gov Election Guide:
This November, Georgia voters will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots for the below-listed offices:
One U.S. Senate seat and all 14 U.S. House seats.
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and State School Superintendent.
All seats in the Georgia State House and Senate.
Nonpartisan elections for Supreme Court Justices and appellate judges.
Sheriffs, District Attorneys, and School Board members.
Absentee/Mail-in Voting
If you prefer not to vote in person, you can request an absentee ballot.
Your application must be received by your county office by October 23, 2026, for the General Election.
Returning Your Ballot
You can return your ballot by mail. It must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
You can return your ballot by drop boxes available inside early voting locations during early voting hours only.
You can delivery your ballot directly to your County Board of Registrar’s Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Election Day Checklist
Before you head to the polls, ensure you are prepared.
Confirm your status on the My Voter Page.
Polling places can change. Double-check yours before the election.
You must present a valid state-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport, or Georgia voter ID card).
If a poll worker cannot verify your info, you can cast a provisional ballot. You must then resolve any eligibility issues with your County Registrar within three days.
