The Devil Wears Prada 2 Final Trailer + Hits Metro Theaters End Of The Month

Twenty years after the cerulean sweater monologue redefined fashion cinema, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially set for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026. However, AMC Camp Creek on Camp Creek Parkway and others in metro Atlanta have websites showing the movie will debut on April 30, which is welcome news to fans of the original film, which has attained cult movie status.

Returning to the cutthroat world of Runway magazine, the sequel reunites the original power trio: Meryl Streep as the legendary Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, and Emily Blunt as the perennially stressed Emily Charlton.

The sequel pivots from the original’s entry-level struggle to a battle for professional survival in a crumbling industry.

The Plot: Miranda Priestly is navigating the sharp decline of traditional print publishing. To save Runway, she is forced into a high-stakes standoff with her former assistant, Emily Charlton, who is now a powerful executive at a luxury conglomerate with the advertising budget Miranda desperately needs.

Andy’s Return: While Andy famously tossed her phone into a fountain in Paris, she is recruited back into Miranda’s orbit as a Features Editor to help steer the magazine through a looming scandal.

Cast Additions: Joining the “core four” (which includes Stanley Tucci as Nigel) are Kenneth Branagh as Miranda’s new husband, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and Simone Ashley.

Production and Cameos: Directed by the original film’s director David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film wrapped principal photography in October 2025 after shooting in New York City and Milan.

Authentic Fashion: Reflecting its deep ties to the industry, the film features cameos from Donatella Versace and an appearance by Lady Gaga, who also contributed an original song titled “Runway” to the soundtrack.

Vogue Partnership: In a meta-twist, Anna Wintour and Vogue have heavily embraced the sequel, a stark contrast to their distance from the 2006 original. Streep and Wintour even appeared together on a joint Vogue cover to promote the film.

This info was revealed after Streep confirmed in an interview that the Miranda character was never based on Wintour, the longtime real-life Vogue editor, contrary to what many have assumed for years.

Premiere Details: The world premiere is scheduled for April 20, 2026, at Lincoln Center in New York City. For those unable to attend in person, the red carpet event will be live-streamed on Disney+ and Hulu.
