Dekalb’s Northlake Mall Sold; Emory Set To Nearly Double Its Footprint

Northlake Mall in Tucker, Georgia, was officially sold to the Atlanta-based healthcare nonprofit Centurion Foundation, with the deal closing on July 1. Following the sale, retail tenants were ordered to vacate, and anchor tenant Emory Healthcare announced plans to more than double its footprint at the property, which opened as an enclosed mall on October 6, 1971.

The once popular mall struggled for years prior to the county’s investment organ, the Decide DeKalb Development Authority, stepping in.

Emory Healthcare currently maintains several administrative and clinical operations at Northlake Mall. Over the years, the site has become the site of a primary care center, which opened in 2025, and a child care center operated in partnership with Primrose School, which opened in 2024.

It was reported by local media that some tenants in the mall began receiving 30 day notices to vacate in late May.
