Fulton County Animal Services Offers $25 Pet Adoptions For The Month Of August: $0 Adoption Fees On Tuesdays And End Of The Month; Over $250 In Medical Care Included

If you’re looking to adopt a new furry friend on a budget, Fulton County Animal Services is slashing adoption fees to $25 for the entire month of August as part of the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” initiative.

The manager of the open-intake facility, LifeLine Animal Project, announced the promotional campaign to combat severe overcrowding. Over 18,000 animals enter the shelter system annually, pushing the facility past its ideal capacity.

The shelter will lower fees even further later in the month. All adoption fees will be completely waived ($0) from August 27 through August 31.

Additionally, the organization is running a “Take ‘Em Home Tuesdays” promotion. This makes all dog adoptions free on any Tuesday throughout August.

The $25 and waived-fee promotions apply to multiple LifeLine-managed locations:

  • Fulton County Animal Services (1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd NW)
  • DeKalb County Animal Services (3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd)
  • LifeLine Community Animal Center (3180 Presidential Dr)

New adoptions include over $250 in medical care.

Despite the heavily discounted adoption rates, all available pets receive comprehensive veterinary care prior to going home. The standard adoption package covers:

  • Spay or neuter surgery
  • Microchipping
  • Core vaccinations
  • Routine medical screenings

Shelter officials emphasize that adopting or fostering directly saves lives. Opening a home to a pet creates physical kennel space. This prevents the facility from facing space-based euthanasia decisions.

Prospective pet owners can view all eligible animals online. Applications can be completed directly through the Fulton County Animal Services Adoptable Pets Portal.
