Fulton District Attorney Hosts Record-Clearing Event That Hundreds Attend; Offers Online System For New Applicants

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis offered a record-clearing event last weekend that drew over 200 people seeking to have certain offenses cleared from their record.

It marked the county’s top prosecutor opening the door for a second chance to members of the community who face hurdles due to past justice system convictions.

“We are committed to helping eligible individuals move forward, overcome barriers, and access new opportunities for a fresh start. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event!”, the Office posted on Instagram.

The D.A.’s Office thanked its summer interns, Court officials, justice system reform advocates and the local church where the event was hosted for making the event possible. Official statistics detailing the exact percentage of Fulton County residents with criminal records are not published, but county-level figures generally mirror the national average, where approximately one-third to 45% of adults have an arrest record.

“A special shoutout to our amazing summer interns—you showed up, stepped up, and represented our office with excellence. Your hard work, energy, and dedication made a real difference.

“We also extend our sincere gratitude to Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts Ché Alexander and her staff, the Georgia Justice Project, and Fulton County Superior Court Judge Eric Dunaway for their partnership and commitment to helping individuals move forward with a fresh start. Your support and service were instrumental in making this event possible

A heartfelt thank you to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Rev. Lucy Strong, and the wonderful church volunteers whose generosity, hospitality, and willingness to serve helped make this event possible. We truly appreciate your partnership and support.”

The D.A, has not scheduled another record-clearing event yet but is offering an online portal for anyone wishing to submit their case for review:
