The Tri-Cities High School in East Point went on temporary lockdown today after it was reported that a student who attends the school allegedly made comments on social media deemed threatening which were reported to staff at the school. School administrators then notified Fulton County Public Schools Police.
The school’s principal sent children home early with letters addressed to their parents providing information about the incident.
The student who allegedly posted the threat was removed from the school without incident.
School started at Tri-Cities High School this past Monday.
No arrests have been announced at this time. However, Fulton County Schools Police confirmed they are continuing an investigation into the incident.
Threats made against county schools are investigated by schools police unless other agencies’ assistance is requested, according to law enforcement sources. The East Point Police Department has not been tasked with investigating the incident.
