**UPDATE: POWER RESTORED THROUGHOUT THE CITY**
East Point Power is still reporting outages in the city after portions of the community lost power after 1p.m. today.
Frustrated utility customers reported an inability to speak to representatives to report their outages: Customer Care was closed today in celebration of the Fourth Of July.
But some residents said they were unable to reach a live person on the city’s emergency line at 943-200-2030.
According to the city, work crews are busy working on the disruption and expect to have service restored by 7p.m.

We are currently experiencing a power outage; crews have been notified and are currently in route to assess the situation.
Outage Start Time: 1:40PM
The following areas are affected: Desert Dr, Laurel Ridge Way, Chestnut Dr, Lakeview Pl, Seville Ln, Drexel Ln, Windy Rush Dr, Runnymeade Ln, N. Commerce, Highwood Ln, Oaktree Ct, Janice Dr, High Park Ln, Desert Cir, Kenilworth Dr, and surrounding areas.
Restoration time will be updated after crews’ complete assessment.
Estimated Number of customers affected and substation: 1170
