More Than 520,000 Ballots Have Been Cast In Georgia Since Early In-Person Voting Began On Tuesday

Over half a million ballots have been turned in as of 6 P.M. today for next month’s midterm election. The Georgia Secretary Of State’s Election Data Hub indicates that greater than 521,000 people have voted.

On Tuesday, when early in-person voting got underway, over 190,000 people voted, beating an elections record. The following day, the number went down to 174, 531 ballots submitted.

As of this evening, 156,678 additional votes have been counted.

Democrats and Republicans are locked in a fierce electoral battle that will decide a number of critical races, including for U.S. Senator, Congress, governor, state and local seats.

On a national level, control of both chambers of Congress hang in the balance.

Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is battling Republican Congressman Mike Collins in the state’s Senate race. Polls have consistently shown Ossoff leading in that race.

In the race for governor, Democratic former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms is slugging it out with billionaire businessman Rick Jackson, a health care executive. Polls show that race is tied.

The General Election is November 3, 2026.
