A multi-agency law enforcement operation successfully rescued a missing juvenile sex trafficking victim from North Carolina and arrested a suspect in East Point on Monday, officials announced.
The operation, which culminated on August 24, 2026, brought a months-long search to an end through the coordinated efforts of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Fulton County SWAT team.
According to investigators, the juvenile was first reported missing in May 2026 from her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was last seen entering an unidentified vehicle, reportedly en route to her mother’s residence in Georgia. She never arrived, sparking an intense cross-state investigation.
The breakthrough came on August 17, 2026, when Fayetteville Police requested urgent assistance from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Task Force. Detectives quickly uncovered multiple online commercial sex advertisements featuring the missing juvenile, pinpointing her location to the metro Atlanta area.
Using digital intelligence, tactical teams tracked the victim to a location in East Point. SWAT operators and federal agents moved in, safely recovering the child and taking one suspect into custody.
The juvenile has been placed in a secure facility to receive specialized care and victim support services. Law enforcement officials have withheld the suspect’s identity and specific charges, citing the need to protect the integrity of the ongoing, active criminal investigation.
Additional arrests and charges have not been ruled out by law enforcement officials.
