Democrats and Republicans are locked in a fierce electoral battle that will decide a number of critical races, including for U.S. Senator, Congress, governor, state and local seats.
On a national level, control of both chambers of Congress hang in the balance.
Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is battling Republican Congressman Mike Collins in the state’s Senate race. Polls have consistently shown Ossoff leading in that race.
In the race for governor, Democratic former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms is slugging it out with billionaire businessman Rick Jackson, a health care executive. Polls show that race is tied.
The General Election is November 3, 2026.
