According to the park’s posted hours, the facility does not close until 10:00 PM.

The footage begins with a Sandy Springs patrol vehicle driving onto a pedestrian walking trail behind J’adore. The officer then asked if she was active on her phone.

When the officer demanded identification, J’adore explained her driver’s license was inside her car. The video then shows the officer closely trailing her back to the parking lot.

Throughout the walk, J’adore repeatedly asked why she was being approached or investigated, a question the officer declined to answer, according to the footage.

Upon arrival at the parking area, four additional police cruisers were captured on the footage. Officers took J’adore’s identification to conduct a background check. Following the screening, the primary officer ordered her to vacate the premises immediately.

In her social media post, J’adore expressed deep distress over the encounter, stating she complied with all orders out of fear for her personal safety given the sudden influx of multiple armed officers.

“In a situation like this everyone has a shoulda woulda coulda but you don’t know until you’re in it . I refused to be the next black person unjustifiably killed so YES. I did comply.”

The video has since been amplified by regional digital outlets, sparking widespread and growing community outrage and calls for an internal investigation into the officer’s conduct and the department’s protocol regarding park enforcement.

At this time, the Sandy Springs Police Department has not issued an official statement pertaining to this incident.
