It was a weekend of gridiron chaos, late-game blunders, and breathtaking finishes across the National Football League, leaving fans breathless from London to Atlanta.
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-23 in an overtime thriller at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, while across the Atlantic, the Jacksonville Jaguars stunned the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 in London to highlight a wild Week 5 Sunday.
Tonight, the action concludes on Monday Night Football as the Buffalo Bills visit the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
Heartbreak in The City: Ravens Outlast Falcons in Overtime
In a backup quarterback duel for the ages, the Ravens walked out of Atlanta with a gritty 30-23 overtime victory that played out on Sunday Night Football. Playing without superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, Baltimore leaned on veteran backup Tyler Huntley, who engineered a clutch 71-yard touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter to force the extra period.
The Falcons suffered a double blow late in the contest. Rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was forced out of the game with an injury, thrusting Tua Tagovailoa into the lineup. On the Falcons’ opening drive of overtime, Tagovailoa threw a costly interception, setting up the Ravens’ game-winning score and sealing a catastrophic home collapse for Atlanta.
The Falcons now drop to 2-3 in a tight NFC South race.
London Calling: Sirianni Blunder Costs Eagles Against Jaguars
At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Jacksonville Jaguars breathed new life into their season with a shocking 19-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. The contest appeared headed for overtime until a critical tactical error by Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.
With just 8 seconds remaining, Philadelphia allowed a kickoff return rather than pinning Jacksonville deep. The Jaguars capitalized on the favorable field position instantly, setting up rookie kicker Cam Little, who etched his name into franchise lore by drilling a walk-off 57-yard field goal as time expired.
