A night-shift argument between coworkers turned fatal early Thursday morning, leaving a 26-year-old man dead at a commercial food distribution facility in southeast Atlanta.
The shooting occurred on October 1, 2026, at the Royal Food Service warehouse located on Zip Industrial Boulevard.
According to Atlanta Police Department investigators, a dispute broke out between two employees during their shift. The confrontation rapidly escalated, concluding when one worker shot the victim in the head near the back of the business’s premises.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to police, the victim and his shooter had been engaged in an ongoing dispute.
“We’re able to determine this looks like a shooting from known parties about an escalating dispute that’s been going on for some time,” Lt. Christopher Butler told WSB-Tv Channel 2’s Darryn Moore.
Authorities confirmed that a person of interest is currently in custody for questioning. Investigators have not yet publicly released the identities of either the victim or the suspect, citing the active nature of the ongoing homicide investigation.
