An 18-year-old man is behind bars today, charged in connection with a weekend quadruple shooting at a Stone Mountain apartment complex that left two young brothers dead and two women injured.
Julian Ellis was arrested by DeKalb County Police late Tuesday night. He faces two counts of felony murder and six counts of aggravated assault following a swift 48-hour investigation into the deadly gunfire that shattered a local community.
The shooting occurred just after 10:00 PM on Sunday night at the Brannon Hill apartments located at 1075 North Hairston Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a chaotic and devastated environment where several people had been shot, including two young boys and two women.
The boys, Jamarion Rolle, 11, and Jakhi Clark, 12, two brothers who lived at the complex, were among the four who had been shot by a then-unknown assailant.

Within hours, both brothers, who attended area schools, were deceased.
Two other relatives, identified as a 19-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman, also suffered gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to local hospitals and are expected to survive their injuries.
According to a preliminary investigatory details released by authorities, the gunfire was not a random act of violence. DeKalb County Police stated that the shooting appears to have stemmed from an earlier fight or disagreement that occurred at the apartment complex earlier that day.
Detectives worked around the clock following the incident, ultimately identifying Ellis as the primary suspect and taking him into custody without further incident.
The tragedy has left family members and neighbors reeling as the community tries to cope with the aftermath of such an unspeakable tragedy.
Many on social media are calling for a renewed focus on curbing youth gun violence in the metro Atlanta area, particularly in light of the young ages of the victims–and the suspect.
To aid the family in view of such a horrific and unexpected occurrence, a GoFundMe page has been established by loved ones to help the family cover the unexpected funeral expenses for the two young boys.
Ellis was booked into the DeKalb County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday at 1:00 PM.
The DeKalb County Police Homicide Assault Unit emphasizes that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage to contact detectives at 770-724-7850.
